Evening

(entry by proud father)
This was certainly a red letter day in Mark’s recovery. He had his first food by mouth since November 28 (about 10 half-teaspoons of apple sauce) which he ingested with no problems. He talked in his normal voice, whether he covered the trach tube or not! He had his first visitor (Cousin Bev) and talked up a storm (Chris’s description.) He seems to get stronger hour by hour.

It's kinda of amazing that once they take off they fly.

That's Mark... I guess he'd misread his chart: where it said "NPO" (nothing by mouth), he must have interpreted it as "nothing by half-measures. :)

Nice to see you making big progress, dude!

"His normal voice?" It's been too long since I've heard that great deep voice of his.

Hooray! Sounds like you're truly on the mend. I only hope I don't speak too soon, but I know you are a strong, ornery cuss and too mean to leave us for long.
See you at the next shootin match.

And to think......you always spit it out when you were a small ornery kid!

Can't wait to hear that you've read all of these post comments yourself. Welcome back, Mark. You gave us all reason to reflect on love, friendship and the delicate nature of life.
With the love of your family and friends, may your return to life and health will be swift.

Mark, Have been reviewing the blogs almost every night. You are obviously making a great recovery. Be patient, the improvements will come slowly, but it sounds like the recovery will be a near complete one. You are fortunate that you have such wonderful and concerned friends and family. Rob
