Evening

Mark had another good day today. His temp was up and down but still no sign of infection. Although he was reluctant to open his eyes for very long, he was aware for quite a while, waving to people who came into his room (with some prodding), squeezing my hand and puckering up for a kiss. He even ever-so-slightly started nodding his head again in response to questions. He was also completely breathing on his own with oxygen assist from the vent, but he may be completely weaned off the vent tomorrow. Even if it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm hoping it's real soon and it's off to rehab! He had a CAT scan today and the shunt is working fine.

I'm glad to see this; thanks again for keeping us all posted, Chris. Mark, get breathing and get out of there! You need another hole in your head about as much as, erm, well, similes fail me at this point for obvious reasons. :)

Theoretically, I'm supposed to be doing a seminar in NYC in February. Hopefully, by that point, they'll decide that you've been a good boy for long enough so they can let you out - that is, you've been inhaling and exhaling and sleeping and waking and eating and evacuating as is appropriate for a Mark of your accomplishments, abilities, and parameters - then I'll drive down and hock your chainik in person. By then, you're going to be sick of everyone being constantly nice to you, so you should find it refreshing. :)

Get well, and quick!
