Morning

I just got off the phone with Dr. Kobbe. They're going to place Mark's shunt this morning. On his CAT scan they noticed some fluid build up in his other lobes so they are also going into his ventriculostomy with a camera to look around and break up any membranes that may be causing the draining problem. This will fix the drainage problem and allow them to just put in one shunt. He will be performing this procedure with Dr. Liebman, one of the senior partners in the practice.

I did notice that although Mark has had more and longer wakeful times in the last two days, he has also been a little more confused and has had some short term memory loss.

He will be out of surgery by the time I get there at noon and probably very awake by tonight.

Sounds good buddy! It was great to see you on Saturday. I knew you were in there and very very aware of everything I was saying. I have to say it was nice to be able to engage with you. I'll stop by over the Holiday to say hello and bring you up to date on the Cobra and Shooting.

HEY MARK.... I know your cents of humor... so here goes.
Here is my lump of coal for your Christmas stockings!! : Enjoy!

A man goes into his dentist's office and complains because there is something wrong with his mouth.

After a brief consultation the dentist exclaims "Holy Smoke! That plate I installed in your mouth about six months ago has nearly completely corroded. What on earth have you been eating?"

The man replied "Well, the only thing I can think of is this -- my wife made me some asparagus about four months ago with this stuff on it -Hollandaise sauce she called it.

"And doctor, I'm talking 'delicious'. I've never tasted anything like it. Ever since then I've been putting it on everything - meat, fish, toast, vegetables - you name it."

The dentist responded "That's probably it . Hollandaise sauce is made with lemon juice, which is acidic and highly corrosive. It seems as though I'll have to install a new plate, but this time made of chrome."

Why chrome?" the man asked.

The dentist replied "Well, everyone knows that there's no plate like chrome for the Hollandaise."

Hey Mark,
Seems like you're improving well. Man, that's good--keep it up.
I think about you quite a bit...especially this weekend when my new 1855 musket arrived. You'll love to see it, a real beaut, almost as nice as your musket.
When you get out of there I imagine you'll be up for some shooting soon. I'll be up end of April for one...sure hope you're there for that one...won't be the same without you.

Mark, I hope these new procedures get you "out of the fog" and back into the flow. If not, I'm going to recommend that your Docs insert the hose of a large horsepower sump pump in your head and suck the bilge drainage out of there!
Sounds like things are turning around. We all rejoice with each report of good news. Keep getting stronger.

Mark--
I've been checking on you daily. Mom will be here tomorrow. I've been sending her daily reports as she is no technology wizard on the web (as evidenced by the numerous times you stopped by in Florida to "do her drive"). She laughs asking me, "Is that similar to tuning my piano?"
Anyway wildman I'm sure I can set her up with a post.
We're in this for the long haul as that's what love is.
PS I might be sending a Hooter's gal your way for Christmas. I'm sure she'll get your eyes open...
Chris is Mark's mom still there? If so would it be possible for me to have a number so mom could call and speak to her?
Thanks, Kevin kbrk@tcworks.net

I must say that I have not be able to visit the blog site for several days, but oh what a lovely surprise to read the posts from the past several days and hear that Mark is up to his old tricks of flirting the the ladies and has made such progress. I hope the shunt works to control the flow and keeps up the great progress. I know that that is a huge relief for Dave and Maggie and you to Chris. Keep up the great work Mark. Hopefully I can come see you and Chris soon. Take care and prayers, hugs, and much love to you both.
